WHY VEGAN ?
There are many reasons I've chosen to be vegan. Health, ethical, spiritual, environmental, the list goes on.
I have always wanted to be a vegetarian and tried to make the switch many times but, I felt like I couldn't live without meat. I thought I was someone that needed more protein. What I didn't understand, at the time, is that you get plenty of protein without meat. Understanding this, I was able to shift my thinking and it made it much easier to let meat go.
It really is a mindset, though you do need to be aware of the nutrients you need to make up for not eating meat. A junk food vegan can not be a healthy vegan.
I also had to admit to myself that I wanted to hold on to meat eating because I like meat. That to me, is not a good enough reason to condone the mistreatment and slaughter of so many innocent beings.
I always wondered, why go to the extreme of being vegan. I don't question that anymore. I have forced myself to look at the truth of it all. The meat, dairy and egg industries. As well as leather, wool and honey. And what was discovered is shocking.
I understand, it's hard to look...really hard. But once you do, you see what has been hidden from the majority of us.
I can't unsee what I have seen but, I'm glad I finally looked. I'm glad I finally know.
I have provided links to some videos that lay it all out for you to truly understand.
WARNING:
These videos are very hard to watch. Please go into it with that knowledge. Watch them at a time when you don't have to go anywhere or do anything else, so that it has time to sink in and, if you're not already fully aware of these things, you have time to settle your mind.
As hard as it is to watch and accept that this is happening, it's nothing compared to what all of these tortured beings have to live through.
I suggest watching in order 1,2,3,4
